Vacation sales will be down 1 percent this year, according to the leading retail trade association, with dull costs by consumers not likely to obtain an increase from Xmas provides placed on charge card.

According to the National Retail Federation, frugal-minded consumers are most likely to shift far from charge card and instead put holiday buys on debit cards and cash.
